Accessibility Statement
fixmic is designed to be usable by everyone, including people who rely on assistive technology. This page describes the standards we follow and how to report any accessibility issues you encounter.
Standards we target
fixmic conforms to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. This is the standard recognised by most national accessibility laws including the European Accessibility Act and the U.S. Section 508.
What we do
Every interactive element is keyboard-accessible with a visible focus indicator. We use semantic HTML — real headings, lists, buttons, and links — so screen readers can announce structure correctly. Text contrast meets the 4.5:1 ratio for body text and 3:1 for large text in both dark and light modes. The microphone diagnostic also presents its results as text, so the meaning is available without seeing the moving bar or waveform.
Known limitations
The live waveform and level meter are visual representations of sound. Their information is duplicated in the textual diagnostic results, but the visual presentation itself is not audio-narrated in real time. We will improve this as part of ongoing accessibility work.
Browser and assistive technology support
We test against current versions of NVDA on Windows (Firefox), VoiceOver on macOS (Safari and Chrome), VoiceOver on iOS, and TalkBack on Android. If you use a different combination and encounter a problem, please write to us.
Reporting issues
If you find an accessibility barrier on fixmic, please email contact@fixmic.com. Include the URL of the page, the assistive technology you are using, and what did not work. We aim to respond within 48 hours and to fix critical issues within 14 days.
